Stadthuys Malacca
Stadthuys Malacca
The Stadthuys: The Stadthuys, www.fibcool.com also known as the Red Square, is located in Malacca, Malaysia. It is one of the largest and most outstanding buildings in Malacca. The building housed three museums: the History Museum, the Ethnography Museum and the Literature Museum. The Stadthuys was built by the Dutch in 1650 as the office of the Dutch Governor and Deputy Governor. During the Dutch administration, the Stadthuys served as the civic centre of Malacca town. When the British took over Malacca, they continued to use it as a civic centre. After Independence, the Malaysian government used it as the State Governing Centre. It was converted into the Ethnography Museum in 1979. With a delightful outward appearance, the building has a striking maroon colour. Originally, at the time of its construction, bricks were used to build the external wall of the building. When the faced-walls started to leak, these walls were covered with plaster and painted with white paint. Subsequently, the building was painted in bright red colour. Later, a darker coat of paint was used over it and this resulted in the current maroon colour. The Stadthuys is a lovely building. It is a good example of Dutch architecture with solid doors and louvred windows. Thick masonry walls and heavy wooden beams can be seen in the interior of the building. The statue of Admiral Cheng Ho, which stands in the courtyard, was built to commemorate the admiral's visit to Malacca during the time of the Malacca ...

ALI ASANFHAT MUKEHIRI YAZEB - Rock the castah ("Malacca Patacca" by Pedale Baroque, 2012)
ALI ASANFHAT MUKEHIRI YAZEB - Rock the castah ("Malacca Patacca" by Pedale Baroque, 2012)
The 7th single taken from the forthcoming compilation album by Pedale Baroque, "MALACCA PATACCA" (2012) Alì Asanfhat Mukehiri Yazeb is a sort of misterious guru at Pedale Baroque, maybe the arab version of Prof. Aramis Passepartout. Infact recently, he teamed with many other Pedale Baroque artsists such as Ok Corral, Frogassa, Ghandi goes to Bollywood and many others as artistic producer or even composer and musician. His prerogative is the "ethnic touch" that he nas naturally built in in his DNA. ;-) This song marks his return as the main artist (accompanied by the friends "Ok Corral") and it's surprisingly sung in Italian. He is living in Italy since 30 years now, so he speaks fluently the Dante's language and in this song he attacks the corrupted italian political class (called "casta") inviting all the people to rebel in a sort of pacific (but even not pacific) revolution. The quote of the unforgettable Clash hit is only in the title (a delicious gimmick) while instead the song is a sort of dark post wave ethno flavoured pop rock tune. Hope you'll enjoy! The download is FREE on Pedale Baroque's homepage at www.pedalebaroque.altervista.org. The full album should be available within April 2012. And always FREE! Enjoy and support the NEW music and the NEW artists

BRIGITTE IN BANCA - Facewall ("Malacca Patacca" by Pedale Baroque, 2012)
BRIGITTE IN BANCA - Facewall ("Malacca Patacca" by Pedale Baroque, 2012)
The 8th single taken from the forthcoming compilation album by Pedale Baroque, "MALACCA PATACCA" (2012) Brigitte in banca is the name of this obscure band which maade its debut in 2007 with the highly acclaimed "Abulia", featured on the "Balumba Tombo reloaded" compilation album of 2007. This song is dedicated to all "Facebook addicts" and to all the people who use to communicate only through social networks in these days of big confusion/frenzy. Tiny song with deep meanings... LOL The download is FREE on Pedale Baroque's homepage at www.pedalebaroque.altervista.org. The full album should be available within April 2012. And always FREE! SINGAPORE CURRENCY NOTES - Colonial Era
SINGAPORE CURRENCY NOTES - Colonial Era
In 1819 Stamford Raffles established Singapore as a trading post. The Dutch who controlled much of Indonesia saw this as a threat and protested. The issue was settled by the Anglo-Dutch treaty in 1824. This treaty gave the British control of areas north of the Straits of Malacca and the Dutch control of areas south of the Straits. In 1926 Singapore, Penang and Malacca were grouped together as the Straits Settlements under the control of the British East India Company. In 1867 the Straits Settlements came under direct rule of the British, taking orders from the British Colonial Office. The Straits Settlements was dissolved in 1946.

DrKJYesudas about vizhinjam
Vizhinjam International Seaport ------------------------------------------------- Advantages -------------------- Vizhinjam is an all-weather port located on the Southern tip of the sub-continent, it is just 10-12 nautical miles from the busy Persian Gulf - Malacca shipping lanes which carry almost a third of the world shipping traffic. Central to the eastern and western coast lines of India - can cater to the needs of both west and east coast. The proposed transshipment terminal will be an ideal location for attracting mainline vessels ranging from Post Panamax to Malacca-max in a phased manner. The proposed site is endowed with natural depth of more than 20 m as close as one Nautical Mile from the sea coast. The proposed site has minimal Littoral drift and as such would hardly require any maintenance dredging during the years of operation. This will result in low O&M Costs. The proposed port is a Green-field project, away from urban/city limits, and thus can be master planned and shaped by the professional and experienced developer as per his own efficient designs and needs. The Port can turn out to be an efficient, modern and highly productive port with design, expertise and experience of the successful developer having international experience in such ports. Once the port is up, Indian exporters will not have to rely on foreign ports for trans-shipment of cargo. It is expected to save at least 1000 crores in expenditure annually.
